Small, well-formed karst spring below Schlossberg. Previously, the exit from the pot was so strong that the Zaußenmühle could be operated with it.

A really nice place to relax in Pegnitz. A good tip to eat is the nearby Zaussenmühle. Here you can get traditional food from Franconian Switzerland. In good weather, you can enjoy your beer after work in the beer garden and look at the Pegnitz spring.

A really worth seeing system with the enclosed Pegnitz spring, a pond with a water feature and a beautiful trellis. There are also benches to take a break and there is a nice beer garden right next to it. The mean spring discharge is now around 5 liters per second; however, it is heavily dependent on precipitation. The story of the source, formerly called "Zaußenbrunnen", can be read on a board by the embankment.
