Location: Friedrichskoog, Dithmarschen, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
Dieksand was until the dike of Friedrichskoogs 1853 a natural Hallig on the edge of the Elbe estuary. The former island area today forms the western tip of the mainland community Friedrichskoog.
Here begins the Trischendamm. It was built in the 1930s and was intended to connect the current bird sanctuary Trischen to the mainland. However, the construction was never completed. The walk-in dam now projects 2.2 kilometers into the Wadden Sea and provides a view of the Mittelplate drilling platform.

On the Trischendamm you can really let the wind blow around your nose.

Friedrichskoog (short Fri'ko or Frieko or as a nickname Friko rsp. Frieko, derived from the Low German name Friechskouch, which in turn refers to the name "Friech" as a traditional Dithmarscher Platt version of the name Friedrich) is a municipality in the Southwest of the district Dithmarschen (Schleswig-Holstein) between the open North Sea and the Elbe estuary. Originally dominated by agriculture, fishing was added at the beginning of the 20th century. In the meantime, it is mainly a tourist resort. Off the coast in the Wadden Sea National Park are both the bird protection island Trischen and the largest German oil rig Mittelplate. Wikipedia
