Be sure to take a little detour. Visit this place of rest here. From here I would hike straight ahead, and NOT back onto the dusty gravel dirt road. Here you come across the Teufelsloch again, and prefer to walk the piece to the right, towards the arched bridge / parking lot. Can't understand that komoot recommends the gravel road as a hiking trail.

The inscriptions in the Rhätsandsteinkante come from Latvian members of the Labor Service Unit of the US Army, who were mainly entrusted with guard duties and who were stationed for exercises in the forest in the post-war years. In addition to the year 1949, there is a chiseled devil's face, the names of the guards and the name of the company, which goes back to a Latvian prince. The name Devil's Hole was also immortalized in the Latvian language (VELNA ALA) in the rock. Three of the Latvians emigrated to America after their time in Labor Service.Source: Hiking paradise "Around the Neubürg"
