Flanked by Rigi and Rossberg, you will find one of the most spectacular and diverse moor landscapes in Switzerland. A unique feature is the interplay of the original lake landscape, characterized by extensive reed meadows, with the traces of the Goldau landslide of 1806. At that time, huge amounts of rock and loamy marl thundered into the valley and covered large parts of the ground.Because of its original beauty and its outstanding value as a natural area, the moor landscape between Goldau and Lauerz is of national importance. The large-scale mixture of bogs, silt zones, lake and landslide traces is unique in Switzerland. The limited usability of the moist valley floor covered with boulders offers a unique opportunity for nature. The valley floor between Goldau and Lauerz owes much of its outstanding value to its hardly disturbed water balance. The numerous natural streams and ponds, the high groundwater level, but also the sporadic flooding of the lake shore are decisive for the preservation of the multifaceted moor landscape with its pronounced biodiversity.

A very beautiful moor landscape with some streams and ponds, as well as barbecue areas and opportunities to linger. I like how the rocks are integrated into nature - there is something mystical about it. Unfortunately, the ravages of time are gnawing at the wooden figures and some of them are defective and no longer clearly recognizable.
