Right next to the brine facility is a delicious Italian restaurant. It's worth taking a break there.

The shape of the new SoleArena created by the ARGE is extremely unusual and probably unique in Europe. Three passages and three viewing openings. In the inner courtyard there is a surrounding bench and a brine bowl from which brine is misted. The brine bowl has a diameter of 2.80 meters. The nozzles mist brine water with a salt content of approx. 2-4%. In addition, PinaSol® from Bad Essener Wilms GmbH is temporarily added to the SoleArena. The water technology is housed in an underground shaft next to the SoleArena. At 5.4 meters in length, 3 meters in width and 2.5 meters in height, the shaft is roughly the size of a prefabricated garage. The ventilation shafts can be seen in the lawn next to the arena. The technical shaft contains the control, reservoirs and pumps to supply the graduation tower, the fountain bowl and the mist nozzles. To replenish the tanks, brine is pumped from the Bad Essen brine spring in Harpenfeld into the shaft, the brine spring in Bad Essen - Harpenfeld. The Bad Essen thermal brine has been bubbling from a depth of 800 m since 1991. The salinity is 31.8%. (Comparison: salt content in the Dead Sea 19%).

This mini graduation tower was created as part of the 2010 State Garden Show.
The brine from the brine spring is misted and trickled into the arena.
