The Sägmühlweiher is practically the "house bathing lake" in Ludwigswinkel. It is officially declared a bathing lake and is very shallow with an average depth of 1.5 m. Originally dammed up to operate a sawmill, which can still be seen as a private house on one side of the lake, today it is only used for swimming and, with a permit, for fishing.

The hiking portal Pfalz has a nice anecdote to report: After years of legal dispute, only 10 people are allowed to bathe at the same time in the Sägmühlweiher. However, this upper limit has never been breached. 😜
