The Ahr. Is located in the basement of the half-timbered house from 1726, visible from the outside. An average of 700 liters of water flow from the spring per minute, and the water flows through the masonry canal.
The Ahr spring, which rises under an old half-timbered house is the center of the historic center.
After 89 km, the Ahr ends at Sinzig in the Rhine. Along the Ahr lies the romantic Ahrtalwanderweg, a popular destination for hikers.
It flows east to the Rhine; below Bad Neuenahr, the Ahr valley expands.
The Ahr Valley is the largest closed red wine growing area in Germany.
The river name Ahr comes from the Celtic word ar and means source, water, brook, river.
