The most northerly bivouac zone, Itter, is situated on the steep edge of Limburg. The terrain is therefore sloping, so it is handy that there is a spacious tent platform on which you can place your tent level. You will camp here in a shady environment of birch and oak, but it is mainly the coarse pines that predominate around the bivouac zone. On one side you have a view between the trees over fields and meadowsDue to the very fire-sensitive location of both bivouac zones, it is strictly forbidden to make a wood fire, it is a criminal offense. Respect this wood fire ban as a guest in Duinengordel! You can use a small gas or fuel burner for cooking, unless exceptional measures are in place due to extreme drought. Do not leave a trace on these natural places, as always in a bivouac zone, you take waste back with you, therefore no waste bins have been placed. Read the bivouac regulations on site.
