The late antique Celtic hilltop settlement "Großer Berg" above the town of Kindsbach, high above the Landstuhler Bruch, dates from the 3rd to the 4th century. In the year 352 the settlement was probably abandoned after a Teuton invasion. It is very steep. Some buildings are still visible in outline.

In the 1980s, a late Roman hilltop settlement was uncovered and researched under the direction of archaeologist Helmut Bernhard on the approximately 1.6 hectare mountain plateau on the Grosser Berg between Kindsbach and Kaiserslautern-Einsiedlerhof. Remains of the walls, which were built around 350 AD, have been preserved.

One can also partially recognize the outlines of the houses. The Roman hilltop settlement was built in the fourth century.
