The Rankmühle is an old farmer's mill that belongs to the Rankhof in St. Märgen and dates from the 18th century, exactly from 1736, i.e. from the time when the Baroque church and the Augustinian monastery in St. Märgen blossomed again.

While most of the Black Forest mills were pure mill buildings, the Rankmühle has also remained a residential building to this day, which over centuries has offered day laborers' families and other less fortunate families a rather easy place to live.
