The old parish church of Ystad stands prominently in the city center, right on the large square (Stortorget). She also plays a role in Mankell's Wallander novels, for example Kurt Wallander gets married here and his murdered colleague Svedberg is mourned here. It is worth taking a look inside the church.

Hiking

You don't expect the pomp in this brick church. The Marienkirche was built around 1200. It is the oldest preserved building in the city. In 1648 the tower collapsed, and in 1689 the current church tower was built. The interior of the church is richly decorated.
