Seaside Regional Park is a protected Lithuanian seaside territory between Klaipeda and old Palanga. The area of the park is 5033 ha. About half of the park area is in the sea (about 30 km2).
The stretch of the Lithuanian mainland coast is short, but there are many wonderful places here, where people, separated from the everyday life of the city, like to relax and spend their free time meaningfully. In order to preserve excellent coastal landscapes, natural and cultural heritage values, biological diversity of the Baltic Sea, to restore destroyed and damaged natural and cultural objects, and at the same time to create conditions for the development of cognitive tourism and recreation, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Lithuania established the Seaside (Karklė) Regional Park.
