The pit is located about 800 m from Straßberg in the valley of the Glasebach.

The Strasbourg Mining Museum contains two areas that are staggered over time. An above-ground system that represents modern mining in the post-war period up to 1992.
On the other hand, the underground mine Glasebach, which illustrates the historical mining from the 18th century.

The Glasebach shaft was built on the Straßberg - Neudorfer aisle. This begins about 3.5 km west of Straßberg and stretches 15 km to Königerode. The average incidence to the north is 45-60 degrees. The main mineralization consists of fluorite - quartz - calcite.

The stamp location is at the old Glasebacher tunnel, not far from the historic lime kiln. This kiln was built directly on a limestone quarry. The limestones were placed in the furnace in the form of a vault that completely filled the furnace. The end of the oven was often covered with clay. A wood fire was laid from below, which was maintained until all the limestones had burned out. The lime burned here was used in the smelting of the iron ore mined from the mines, in farmers' own needs and in domestic use. During the restoration work, a lining was found at the mouth of a water solution gallery in the region. The operating time of the lime kiln ended about 100 years ago.

There is a still functioning switch of the mine train as well as the remains of an old lime kiln nearby.
