Bike Touring Highlight
Beautifully located on the Wupper you can still see the old mill wheel turn.
As early as 1605, this Kotten is said to have already originated. You can visit a small exhibition on the sanding trade. A round trip on the Wupper is recommended with various stop-off options.

The Kotten is used as an industrial and grinding museum and is one of Solingen's most famous landmarks. While the Innenkotten, which is located between the Wupper and the Graben, was used by a designer as a residential building with a studio or exhibition space after 1945, independent grinders still work in the smaller Außenkotten and guide visitors through their craft.

As early as the 16th century, the Kotten stood here on an island.
Canoe tours certainly an experience!

Great place to get in touch with the Wupper. Here is a small weir and you can go directly to the Wupper.

The first bridge on the Wupper is closed, redirection signs for cyclists unclear - there is a real improvement needed! (As of June 2019)
