This route is a very nice steady climb on very good asphalted smooth surface with a climb always between 6-10 % with the last part right before the summit creasing to 15 % but only for the length of 100 meters.

North of the Gisliflue lies the idyllic Schenkenbergertal, which extends from the Staffelegg to the Aare near Schinznach. The valley is home to an above-average number of castles and palaces, including the Schenkenberg ruins, Kasteln Castle and Wildenstein Castle, which, along with the Reformed parish church of Schinznach, are cultural assets of national importance. With Schinznach as a municipality with the largest vineyard in the canton of Aargau, the region is an important wine-growing region.
