The Loisach, which has its source in the municipality of Biberwier in Tyrol, still has long stretches that are valuable from a nature conservation point of view. Especially the upper reaches (with the exception of the valley basin of Leermoos) as well as the stretch in the area of the Loisach-Kochelsee-Moore are very important from a nature conservation point of view. In the middle and lower reaches (just before the confluence with the Kochelsee up to the confluence with the Isar) numerous bank structures disturb the natural connection between the water body and the floodplain.

Here the Gießenbach flows into the Loisach. The former is crossed over a bridge, so that you stay on the course of the Loisach.
