At over 1,900 meters, the Hohe Kiste is one of the highest mountains in the Estergebirge. There are several approaches to the summit, but the way from Wallgau via the gentle east ridge is the easiest. More exciting are the hiking trails of Eschenlohe: Both through the Pustertal valley, through the Archtalschlucht gorge as well as over the neighboring Zwölferköpfl, exciting summit ascents, which require physical fitness and surefootedness. Once at the top you will be spoiled with a fantastic view over the lonely Estergebirge and the Bavarian foothills of the Alps.
