    Road cycling

At only 1.9km in length this is a punchy little climb with a maximum gradient of 10% hitting you right out the gates. As you pass the church the slope eases and takes you through gorgeous woodland before arriving at Cookley Green. Here you are on top of the ridge with Nettlebed to the right and the heart of the Chilterns to the left. Be careful when descending as it’s blind, narrow and can collect gravel at the foot of the climb.

    Road cycling

Fast descent on a quiet road (if heading west). It's quite thin with a fair amount of gravel in the middle, so you'll have to mind how you go. Focus is a must because hares and pheasants come out of nowhere so unless you're looking for something to take home and cook as a souvenir of your ride, you'll need to be switched on. Great views from either side, though. You won't regret coming through here.
