The Plassenburg is a hilltop castle surrounded by Renaissance fortifications above the Upper Franconian town of Kulmbach. As one of the most impressive and largest Renaissance buildings in Germany, it was considered a model for fortress construction for a long time and is now the city's landmark. The Plassenburg is now home to the Obermain Landscape Museum, the German Tin Figure Museum, the Frederick the Great Army Museum and the Hohenzollern Museum in Franconia. (Source: Wikipedia).

The climb is tough. I reached my limits with the e-bike. But the climb was worth it. You have a wonderful view of Kulmbach and the surrounding area. It was after 5:00 p.m. on a Monday. I was basically alone in the castle.
It wasn't until I was leaving that I saw the sign that bicycles were actually forbidden on the driveway.
