Between Heringen and Dankmarshausen, this cycle path leads on firm clay soil through the Werra floodplain between the Werra and the gravel pits. A narrow cycle path at times where a certain amount of caution is required, as many parents with children cycle along here.
If you come from Heringen, the path first leads over a charming wooden footbridge through reed fields, then near Widdershausen, winding through bushes to the tarred cycle path just before Dankmarshausen. This section in particular offers numerous small and hidden views of the Werra, its small lakes, the gravel pits and even stork nests.
