With a dominance of almost 20 kilometers and a prominence of almost 300 meters, the Großer Gleichberg is one of the most sublime mountains in Thuringia and for that reason alone it is worth a visit.

Mountain biking

At 679 m above sea level, the Große Gleichberg is the higher and southernmost of the two unique Gleichbergs east of Römhild in the Grabfeld region of the Hildburghausen district, in the Franconian part of Thuringia. It was formed in the tertiary volcanic field of the Heldburger Gangschar and is its highest witness today.
