Beautiful church from the 14th century! in the middle of a small cemetery. On the side there is also a sculpture of a monk as a symbol for the Dutch colonists.

We liked this round very much, because you can extend or shorten your round through the bridges, depending on "your mood".
Or sometimes through the weather.

Steinkirchen celebrated its 850th birthday in 1998. The place was formerly called "Lu", then "Steenlu", later "Steenkarken" and for about 150 years "Steinkirchen" - apparently after its stone church. Since mainly wooden churches were built in the 14th century, the use of field stones was something special.
The church stands in the middle of an old cemetery on a flat mound next to the main road. It was mentioned as early as 1332 in a letter of indulgence from Pope John.
