The IRGW community center at the Weinhof in Ulm includes a synagogue, a mikveh, a community hall, a library, a kindergarten and a youth center. It was held on 2 December 2012 (according to the Jewish calendar 18th Kislew 5773) in the presence of the German Federal President Joachim Gauck, the Israeli ambassador Yakov Hadas-Handelsman, the Turkish Consul General Mustafa Türker Ari, the German Federal Education Minister Annette Schavan and the Prime Minister of the country Baden-Württemberg Winfried Kretschmann inaugurated.
The owner and owner of the community center at the Weinhof is the Jewish Community Württembergs K.d.ö.R. (IRGW) based in Stuttgart. Rabbi in Ulm is Shneur Trebnik.
The building was built according to designs by Susanne Gross from Cologne. Only a few meters away was the old Ulmer synagogue, destroyed in the November pogroms of 1938. In front of the Ulmer Neubau, only the Stuttgart synagogue was built after the Second World War in Württemberg.
At the southeast corner of the new building is the so-called "Jerusalem Window". The pattern consists of repeated stars of David. The Strauss family, who came from Ulm and fled to Palestine before National Socialism, donated the Aron ha-Kodesch to the synagogue. Mr. Widerker Junior donated the Torah scroll together with his wife.
