The Kieler Hörn represents the port tip of the state capital Kiel and at the same time the end of the Kiel Fjord. The Hörn Bridge connects the city center around the main train station with the Gaarden district and the Norwegenkai on the east bank. The Germania Harbor there houses a museum harbor with various traditional work ships. On the west bank is the Bahnhofsbrücke, a landing stage for the scheduled ferries of the Schlepp- und Fährgesellschaft Kiel mbH in regional traffic, for example to Laboe. Historically, the Germania shipyard, which primarily manufactured submarines, was located on the Hörn. To the north of the Hörn you can still find the Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft GmbH with its characteristic cranes.
