In the southwest of Eissen there is an approximately 250 m high volcanic mountain, the Hüssenberg. This basalt quarry is one of seven volcanic embryos in the Höxter district.

A visit here is worthwhile just because of the goats, which are very trusting and like to be petted. In return, you will be used as a salt lick, so you should not be afraid of contact in this regard. 😉The ease with which the goats climb around the remains of the volcano is impressive.
