Bodenwerder is a small town in the district of Holzminden in Lower Saxony. Since October 25, 2013, she bears the official suffix Münchhausenstadt as the birthplace and long-time resident of the "lying baron" Karl Friedrich Hieronymus von Münchhausen. The city is also the seat of the velvet community Bodenwerder-Polle. By the end of 2010, the city had the status of a state-approved health resort, since 2011 state-approved resort.
