Weird concrete blocks in the forest .... ;-) They are not just there and are remnants of the foundation of a tower from the "German village". Artist Eugène Terwindt made a work of art for this location with the text "Lower a person cannot sink".

At first glance they are strange trapezoidal structures. What are those concrete blocks doing in the woods? As before during the walk, traces of the war can be found here. To expand the capacity of Teerose I, Teerose II was built near the highest point of the Veluwe 'Signaal Imbosch' (109m above NAP). The position was an exact copy of Terlet's. There were five towers and identical outbuildings including an evaluation building and residential barracks. This place is still called the 'German village'. The concrete remains you see here formed the foundation for one of the towers. In addition to their work for the radio sentinel station, the German residents passed the time by building an entrance gate and furniture with wooden trunks from the forest. There was even a landscaped garden with shrubs and flower beds. Artist Eugène Terwindt made a work of art for this location with the text 'A person cannot sink any lower'. The mirror image of this work of art can be found in the floodplains near Dieren at the lowest point of the municipality of Rheden: 'A person cannot rise any higher'.

This location is just 1 of 3 subsites that make up Teerose II. During World War II, Teerose II was a radio sentinel station that could locate its own fighter aircraft by means of the Y-level method. The other Teerose II subsites are fairly close by; one about 200-300 meters away and the other about 500-600 meters away.
