Since 1994, the Fehling family has operated their country cheese dairy in Fahrenholz, which is also open to visitors. The cheese is made from raw milk. The products include "Elbmarscher" semi-hard cheese, "Fahrenholzer" Camembert-style cheese, spicy cubes, cream cheese, and herb cream cheese. The products can be purchased directly from the country cheese dairy, but various farm shops and select grocery stores also carry them. In 2011, the country cheese dairy was recognized by the trade magazine "Der Feinschmecker" as one of the best cheese producers in Germany.
