The rest of a 600 to 800 year old tree veteran is located here, about 30 meters west of the path. Although it has been dead for several years and overturned in late 2019, its dimensions are still very impressive. In the last measurements, a trunk circumference of 7.30 meters was measured. Originally there was a sign on the tree that said: "His Royal Highness Grand Duke Ludwig III gave this oak his name most graciously on October 8, 1857."
