The origins of the former Goldbeck moated castle date back to the 13th century, when it was built as a fortified structure by the Counts of Lindow-Ruppin. The now-dry moat was formerly fed by the Dosse River. In 1424, the castle served as a residence for the robber barons Hans von Bosel and Klaus von Königsmark. With the extinction of the Counts of Lindow-Ruppin, the castle passed to Elector Joachim I as an episcopal fief in 1524. Around 1548, Johann Gans Edler von Putlitz was appointed administrator of the castle by Elector Joachim II.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burg_Goldbeck
