The easiest way to get to the lakes is from the "Hohe Straße", which accompanies the Odenwald Limes in this area. Where the path branches off to the east down to the lakes, there was also the WP10 / 29 watchtower. Quarries found indicate that the stone tower was built in 145 AD.
There are actually 2 lakes that you find, not 3. The larger, northern lake is directly accessible. Perhaps the concrete slab there can be used as a bathing area. The reflections in the water allow beautiful photos here. The smaller lake to the south can be reached via a path that goes down to the right in front of the Wildgatter, see Komoot map. You can only see it when you are close to it.
The BREITENBACH, which rises a good 1km north, flows through the two bodies of water and if you follow it to the south, you get to the place of the same name.
