The ridge path can be imagined as a summit cross-section. It goes on well-secured paths and stairs on summit and through gorges. Thus, the ridge path combines a sense of adventure and great panoramic views along the Schrammsteine.

Challenging path over the ridge. In some places quite narrow (little distance to the slope) railings are present. For children only partially suitable and then only under constant supervision and if necessary security.

Due to the risk of congestion a cyclic time is recommended.

Spectacular view, unfortunately in summer in good weather, almost overcrowded. Especially in the area of the Schrammstein prospect it was a bit too full. Those who prefer it quiet and lonely, should refrain or come out of peak times!

With dog only partially feasible, dog must be able to be worn and sometimes even dare to go alone through one or the other narrow ridge. Absolutely secure, because a thoughtless jump and the dog could slip off.

With larger dogs please do not, the way is for dog and owner, especially without a suitable climbing harness, very difficult to pass. Even sure-footed dogs have a hard time on the metal struts of the ladders, there are some narrow passages with steep slopes, so please be very careful about whether you trust yourself to hold your dog with one hand and your own with the other. We had to turn back because the path was too difficult for our shepherd dogs (even with climbing gear).

The ridge path is feasible with a dog, if he is used to running such routes. The dog can avoid many stairs / ladders - but he has to master almost as many (up and down) as well. We carried our dog when he became unsafe in two places (he has a corresponding "climbing harness") ... then it went on cheerfully. Even a narrow crevice (the so-called "narrowest part of the ridge path") must be run through - small / slim dogs are clearly in the advantage;)

Please always pay attention to the signals from the dog - it should be fun for all concerned :)
