The ridge path can be imagined as a summit cross-section. It goes on well-secured paths and stairs on summit and through gorges. Thus, the ridge path combines a sense of adventure and great panoramic views along the Schrammsteine.

Due to the risk of congestion a cyclic time is recommended.

Challenging path over the ridge. In some places quite narrow (little distance to the slope) railings are present. For children only partially suitable and then only under constant supervision and if necessary security.

Spectacular view, unfortunately in summer in good weather, almost overcrowded. Especially in the area of the Schrammstein prospect it was a bit too full. Those who prefer it quiet and lonely, should refrain or come out of peak times!

With dog only partially feasible, dog must be able to be worn and sometimes even dare to go alone through one or the other narrow ridge. Absolutely secure, because a thoughtless jump and the dog could slip off.

The adventurous ridge trail is a lot of fun, but it is also a little strenuous, because it sometimes goes up and down on ladders.

Please do not bring larger dogs, the path is very difficult for dog and owner to pass, especially without a suitable climbing harness. Even sure-footed dogs have a hard time on the metal struts of the ladders, there are some narrow passages with steep slopes. Please consider very carefully whether you dare to hold your dog with one hand and yourself with the other. We had to turn back because the path was too difficult for our shepherd dogs (even with climbing gear).
Those who are unsure of heights might get anxious here, as there are passages with rock walls on one side and metal railings and a chasm on the other.

Always new perspectives, photo motifs non-stop.
For me one of the most beautiful ridge paths in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.
