Beautiful climb with numerous steps and deep views. It's a lot of fun if you have sure-footedness and a head for heights. I think is one of the most beautiful of the black-marked climbs.

The Dopplersteig is a hiking and climbing trail that leads to the Untersberg plateau on the Untersberg.
The Dopplersteig begins in the valley in Glanegg (market town of Grödig) and leads on a well-developed former alpine path to the Untere Rosittenalm and from there over many wooden steps and a number of switchbacks to the Obere Rosittenalm. There a path branches off to the south to the Toni Lenz hut, the Dopplersteig leads west to a rocky slope, which is overcome with over 500 steps carved in stone and secured with a steel cable. After the steep section, the Zeppezauerhaus (1,664 m above sea level), the Geiereck (1,805 m above sea level) and the Salzburger Hochthron (1,853 m above sea level) follow on the other side of a shoulder. The last section from the Zeppezauerhaus was declared the Sepp-Forcher-Steig on September 24, 2022.

There are many ways to the Untersberg in Salzburg. But only one that is steep, exposed and just as legendary: the Dopplersteig. 1200 meters of altitude spread over just 4.5 km... over 2500 wooden steps and steps hewn into the rock.
