"Brigach and Breg bring the Danube along," they say. Here you can see one of the two Danube source rivers, as he sees the light of day. At the Martinskapelle at 1,078 meters of height the Breg comes to light, which humanity has long ago honored with a chapel and later added a large inn, which is a popular tourist destination. But it is also well located;) So a good opportunity, to give you a sip of spring water and a small or larger strengthening.

The path to the source was redesigned a while ago.
In addition to information about the Danube, there is also information about the local flora and fauna.
The spring is now "guarded" by Dānuvius, the Roman river god of the Danube.
The Martinskapelle, which belongs to the Kolmenhof, is in the immediate vicinity. A few minutes walk away is the Güntherfelsen.
A stop at the Kolmenhof is also worthwhile. There is good food (trout are freshly caught) and just as good cakes.
More information about the source of the Danube, the Kolmenhof and the Martinskapelle can be found at kolmenhof.de
