Best Hikes to Sassariente Summit

Tips

  • The Sassariente, Gordola's local mountain, is a summit from where the highest and lowest point in Switzerland can be viewed simultaneously. A striking rock tooth at the entrance to the Verzasca Valley high above the Magadino Plain. Easily visible from the motorway ramp when driving from Lugano to Bellinzona. Only 1767 meters above sea level. But also 1500 meters above the valley floor and an «incomparable viewpoint», as the club guide Ticino Alps 2 of the Swiss Alpine Club notes!

  • On clear days the view is truly remarkable.
