From the Uhlandhöhe, the path leads over a steel walkway up to twelve meters high, offering spectacular views of the Blatterngraben. A staircase then descends into the Blatterngraben, accompanied by the trees of the adjacent gardens, which tower high above one's head.
The Blatterngraben, like the other Überlingen moat systems, is a listed monument. The section of the moat was named Blatterngraben (smallpox, also known as smallpox) because it was used as an outpatient walkway for the sick from the leper house during and after the Swedish Wars.
