Wonderful to see the city from above. You drive through it as if you were flying low over an open-air museum, your legs turning here as if by themselves. Wonderful road surface.

That is really a highlight. Wide view, good surface, sometimes too many people: D

Super well-developed route, ideal for racing bikes. Be careful, there are tunnels and the police sporadically check the lighting.

Attention: There are several tunnels to be driven through on the route. The use of lighting is mandatory there. This is also checked sporadically by the police.

                History

Under the leadership of Carsten Gerhardt, plans were put in place at the end of 2005 in parts of Wuppertal's community to transform the railway lines that were closed in 1991 into a recreational path. This was to connect people from different parts of the city on foot and lead them out of the city into nature without crossing any intersections.

The Wuppertal Movement, a non-profit association founded on February 6, 2006, produced a feasibility study, which it presented to the public in spring 2006. The estimated costs were 16 million euros, of which 80 percent of the funding was in prospect. With intensive public relations work in the media, associations and political bodies at the municipal and state level, the Wuppertal Movement was able to create a positive climate for the project. Representatives of the city of Wuppertal also reacted positively to the study, but pointed out that the city did not have the financial and human resources to implement the idea.
