The Cistercian monastery, with its imposing double tower facade and baroque church, is located directly on the Kocher-Jagst cycle path and is definitely worth a visit. The monastery café is located in the complex itself and invites you to linger. Coming from the north is the "Gasthaus zur Post" on the left and offers refreshment for everyone who "only" wants to marvel at the monastery from the outside.

Opening times of the monastery church:
May to September: Monday to Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
October to April: Monday to Sunday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission to the New Abbey and Monastery Church: 5 euros adults / 4 euros reduced

Former Cistercian monastery in the Hohenlohe with a beautiful baroque church. A café with a great selection of cakes invites you to rest.

The monastery is a former Cistercian abbey from the 12th century. The complex includes next to the church many farm buildings and a monastery garden. With the surrounding residential buildings, the monastery complex forms the district Kloster Schöntal the community Schöntal. In the monastery cafe is taken care of the physical well-being.

The Schöntal Monastery is known far beyond Baden-Württemberg as a wonderful monastery with spacious parks. Here you can also spend the night with a larger group.

There is a parking lot at the Jagstbrücke in Schönau. From there it was easy to get on the Jagsttalradweg.
