Extensive finds from the sea and the ground prove that Preetz played a major role as a manufacturing center for what is known as "Probsteier Keramik." The museum displays an impressive cross-section of this ceramics. At the beginning of the 17th century,
the craft of gold and silversmiths also flourished. The museum possesses outstanding examples, particularly from masters of the 18th and 19th centuries.
