The Gaule is also called Goldbach. It rises - or better: forms - at the southern end of Dittersbach. Small streams flow from the corridors to the Gaule on both sides. In 1959 man intervened in the Gaulelauf to change it. After only 7.8 km it flows into the Pließnitz via an artificial waterfall (Gauleabsturz).
