In the Neanderthal Museum you can meet our distant relatives, the Neanderthals. Its architecture is also remarkable: a concrete building with a curved façade made of Japanese glass. Inside a ramp ramps up, following the exhibition. It was renewed in autumn 2016 and is now state of the art. Particularly impressive are the faithful replicas of Neanderthals - adults and children. Here you are really close to look your distant relatives in the eye. Incidentally, the museum is not in public hands, it is supported by a foundation and largely self-financing.

The museum brings you closer to the history of the Neanderthal man. There are changing theme weeks, which is why a visit, especially with children, remains exciting year after year.

The world famous Neanderthal is one of the top destinations in the region. There is something exciting to discover, even outside the museum.

A real hiking tip. If at all, then at best suitable for mountain bikers as several long stairs
