Montoz Ridge

Orangschin-E (aka ®️oman) can confirm that the approach or driveway to Mont Montoz is best from the west side. However, there is a gate with a padlock at the junction from the path that cannot be opened. So time to do some work-out with the bike and to heave the thing over the fence if you want to go up to the Mont.

If you don't know Mont Montoz on the 2nd Jura chain, you should definitely change this.

The ascent of Sonceboz is not without it, but when you get to the top of the ridge you quickly forget it.
You already have great views on the ascent.
On the way to Mont Montoz you pass various restaurants. So if they are allowed to reopen, there are enough places to stop for a break.
If you take your mountaineering equipment with you, you can even climb a rock face at Mont Montoz.
A little note about the bike route at Mont Montoz.
I missed / not found the hiking trail on the rock plateau on my tour and had to push the bike through the forest. So if you make a detour to the rock plateau, you should take the same route back to the gravel road.
