Consol Park

The Consol Park is located on the site of the former Consolidation 3/4/9 colliery. After decades of hard work and thousands of run-in miners, the focus here today is on games and fun, with lawns to let off steam, facilities for skating, beach volleyball, basketball, inline hockey and soccer. Dense rows of trees shield the park from the surrounding settlements and make it look like a green island. The track bed of the old coal mine was converted into a footpath and bike path. It links the park to the Emscher Park cycle path via the Erzbahn route.

A nice little colliery park with sculptures and viek meadow to linger
