A section of the walking pathway laid with planks by the reservoir’s edge is closed off for renovation till end 2018. The jungle trail is all clear though.
They even have a well defined walkway at certain points right beside the golf course now so you don’t need to cut through.
If you’re continuing on towards Bukit Timah, it will involve some sections along the road so expect some traffic from construction vehicles.
