The outer appearance of the clock is based on the astronomical clock on Prague's Old Town Square, but so far without astronomical functions. It has a satellite-controlled electronic clockwork and a sundial on the side wall. In addition, it is equipped with 19 moving and two static figures made of lime wood: every hour on the hour between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., the mechanism, driven by an electric motor, starts up and shows the 12 apostles, a night watchman with a dog and scenes from the rural area pass through two shop windows.

The clock is a project by local private museum operator Martin Chaloupka. The figures were created by the woodcarver and graphic artist Václav Plechatý from Liberec, and local craftsmen also took part in the project.
