"Sauerland river from beginning to end...
No spring in the Sauerland is as high on the mountain as that of the Lenne spring. 830 m is written on the inscription just a few hundred meters from the Kahler Asten. Initially in narrow notched valleys, from Schmallenberg then somewhat more expansively, the Lenne flows through the towns named after it, Lennestadt, and Finnentrop, only to be limited again by steep slopes in its lower reaches near Altena. After around 120 km, it then flows into the Ruhr near Hagen."
