There are some animals in the fallow deer reserve right on the side of the path. You have partly lost your fear of people. One came directly towards the fence when I stopped for a moment.

Fallow deer are extremely sociable and live in packs of varying sizes (up to 80). Only during the breeding season (June/July) does the animal (female) separate from the pack and stay within earshot of the resting calf. The strongest stag leads the pack. Only during the rutting season, around November, do stags and female animals form a joint pack, which then disbands again during the time when the antlers are shed. Fallow deer prefer to feed on grasses and herbs, leaves, tubers and roots. They also occasionally peel the bark of maple and ash trees. The fallow deer require a park-like cultural landscape with equal proportions of forest, field and meadow, in particular a forest with light woods (larch, pine, willow, birch, etc.), mixed wood and shrub flora. The fallow deer is a pronounced cultural follower that can also get by with little forest (similar to roe deer).
