The Marshal Mannerheim Equestrian Monument (in Finnish, Marsalkka Mannerheimin equestrian patsa) is an equestrian monument erected in honor of the President of Finland, Marshal Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim, located in the center of Helsinki along Mannerheimintie on Mannerheim Square. The author of the statue is sculptor Aimo Tukiainen. The monument was opened on the anniversary of Mannerheim's birth, June 4, 1960. The reason why the memorial had to be an equestrian monument was justified on the one hand by the fact that Mannerheim was a cavalryman.
