Freising (formerly Frigisinga, Frisinga, Freisingen, Freysing, Latin: Frisinga) is a large district town and university town in Bavaria and a major centre in the Munich region. Munich Airport is located right outside the city gates in the Erdinger Moos. Due to the resulting strong influx of new citizens, the city exceeded the limit of 50,000 inhabitants at the end of 2016, including secondary residences.[2][3] In 2017, Freising is considered the youngest city in Bavaria - measured by the age of its inhabitants.[4]
