The Doost near Wilchenreuth: A wildly romantic valley with many sloping granite rocks and legends. In the direction of the raft, in a narrow forest ravine, there is a dark wood with roaring water, which falls through moss-covered and lying stone blocks, called the Tost. It is a gruesome, wild, romantic wilderness. The Doost with its idyllic wilderness is a real experience for nature lovers and hikers.

As early as 1937, the only 10.73 hectare and a bit hidden Doost was the first nature reserve in the Upper Palatinate under protection. Incidentally, the "stone block sea" was uncovered by the Girnitz through erosion processes and not - as in mountain streams - transported by the power of the flowing waters from higher areas down the valley.

Very nice circular hiking trail from Floss via Ziegelhütte, keep left. Unfortunately, in Floss this route is very poorly marked, the marking, if present, changes from the black circle to the blue circle and beyond Neustädter Strasse to red. After that, you can't miss the path through the "f" logo to the individual stations, but it's about 15 km in total. Very interesting and instructive biotope.
